This article is an outline and explanation of the national training reform agenda. The author looks at the reasons reform has been considered necessary, what the reforms are, and the proposals for achieving a national training system. Issues such as quality, the setting up of the Australian National Training Authority (ANTA), the National Qualifications Framework and equity are also considered. The complexity of the agenda is stressed.
